First, not because it's the most important thing that happened this weekend, but because everyone expects brazilians to express our feelings on the World Cup...like [livejournal.com profile] priwskywalker said, I knew that it was just a matter of Brazil facing a real team, and we would lose. Because, frankly, Brasil wasn't playing what it should have been playing. Parreira should have dumped all the old stars of the team and went with the young reserves, but...*sigh*

Second, another great weekend spent with friends!

On friday, it was a quiet night, and I went to the movies with [livejournal.com profile] rjann to watch Cars and I loved it! The movie and all the Pixar citations and stuff. Loved it! Ka-ching! XD Lightining McQueen was annoying at the beginning, but his journey towards being a greater being was very well played, and the movie is really all around funny and intelligent! The Incredibles still remains my favorite Pixar movie, though - and that's a tough decision, because I absolutely LOVE all Pixar's animations! With the possible exception of A Bug's Life which I simply like very much. :)

On saturday, I watched Brasil lose - and it was well deserved. But we had barbecue, friends, jokes, and fun all around!

Today, I, [livejournal.com profile] rjann, [livejournal.com profile] ricardosolo and [livejournal.com profile] nandaweasley went to Barra Shopping to try and buy tickets to Cirque du Soleil, which will be here in november, but we didn't manage it. We also wanted to go to the movies, but the lines were SO LONG we gave up. We did spent some time in the mall, where I bought a new SW EU book - The Joiner King I, a Superman plaque with magnetics on the back to put on the refrigerator, [livejournal.com profile] patigwblack's birthday present - yes, one month in advance! XD, and then we had dinner. At Pizza Hut, which I simply LOVE! Love their pepperoni pan pizza! Yummy! Hmmmmmmmmm...

Ok, now, I gotta go, it's getting late and I have to work tomorrow morning.

At last but not least...Superman Returns is not showing in our movie theaters - it only premieres on July the 14th here, and I'm LOSING MY MIND over it. And I shouldn't. I know it. X|

Hey Mara!

I'm not the big comic book junkie that you, so I thought I would ask you if you knew anything about the next Superman movie? I KNOW you haven't seen Superman Returns yet. I get that - so I won't say anything to spoil it's awesomeness for you. However, it is TOTALLY open to a sequel. Have you heard anything about a sequel? If you havem could you direct me to where I might find something about it? I'm all worked up about it...and ACHING to dish the dirt with someone. I know we haven't spoken much, but if you want to drop me a line, I would totally chat for a while.

Not a problem! ;) LOL! How are the kids, btw? I haven't talk much to anyone from fandom anymore because work and stuff...*sigh*

Anyway, about Superman sequels...Brandon Routh, Kate Bosworth, and the actor who portrays Jimmy have all signed for about three Superman movies. Apparently Kevin Spacey hasn't, but he is all for a sequel. And Bryan Singer hasn't signed anything yet, but from what I hear about the nice way WB treated him and all - in harsh contrast to the way FOX distreated him - I think he wouldn't mind doing a sequel after a small vacation. He does want to to another movie before, though, called Longan's Run with WB, I don't know for sure, but I think it would be done before a new Superman movie.

And knowing that so many ppl that are not that huge Superman fans are loving the movie are just making me MORE ANXIOUS! XD ;)

Debora *Still no Superman Returns here yet*

My kids are great! Thanks for asking. We're having family pics taken in about two weeks and I'll post pictures for everyone. They are SO cute and Riley has such long hair.

Now, don't get me wrong - I am a Superman Fan...I'm just not a fan of comics. I LOVE the first two movies and Smallville. I love this movie now, too.

I'm curious to know how much of the first two movies Bryan was taking into account? He OBVIOUSLY was recognizing some of the history presented in the movies. (Ignoring movies three and four...which were HORRID!)

And insidently, have you heard all about this gay Superman trend? Um...my gaydar did not go off AT ALL in this film - and I have pretty good gaydar. I get that Bryan is gay, but that doesn't make Superman gay. It didn't make Wolverine gay. In fact, didn't Bryan say that there wasn't a more heterosexual character out there when it comes to Superman? Where did they get this gay stuff?

Gay? Superman? Perhaps they think that because of his costume, but I have to agree with the assessment that there isn't a more heterossexual character than Superman! ;)

Now, BRYAN IS GAY? I did not now that, is it a fact? A known fact?? *really surprised*

As for how much Bryan took into account from the first two Superman movies, I just hope he took into account ONE specific scene: when Clark and Lois conceived Jason SLEPT together, after he had been turned into a HUMAN, making it impossible for the kid to have superpowers.

And yes, if the kid turns out to be Richard's, I will hunt down Bryan Singer and make him suffer! XD

Ok so...I don't think it will spoil too much for you if I tell you that you can surmise the answer to Jason's paternity from the opening line of dialogue to the ENTIRE movie. HA! In fact, IMO, they should have done MORE with that part of the plot. But we'll talk about that after you see it.

And yes, Bryan Singer is openly gay. Some people are saying that Routh um..."earned" his role as Superman...is you take my meaning. Personally, I got no gay vibe what so ever and was stunned when I read about the whole gay thing. I didn't really read anything about the movie until yesterday after I got home from watching it. I liked it so much that I felt like it needed another half hour to work out the plot the way ~I~ wanted it. It's a two and a half hour movie and I didn't get enough. But then...we are back to the area where I think they missed a few opportunities.

Anyway... I'll stop spoiling things for you. Tell me to shut up!

Ok, you are not helping my anxiety over it... XD

Well, at least I will know if I'm going to like the movie or not right at the beginning! XD :D

Also, if you were unsatisfied with 2 hours and a half, I think it will be even worse with me! XD I'm never satisfied!

And I got your meaning, but I don't think Brandon had to "earn" his part - I think he looks way too much like Christopher Reeves, and also seems to be a very good actor, to have "earned" his part! ;)

After you have seen the movie, you can read what I had to say about everything over at my LJ.

Really...don't read it unless you have seen the film. It will totally spoil everything if you don't.
