The good:
Ok, I need R/H fics, post-HBP. Really. I mean, I REALLY need them. I've already read some, but the sheer amount of H/G fics is starting to annoy me. Not that I don't like them, I DO, and I've been reading them as well, but my OTP is still R/H, so, I need R/H fics. I need MORE R/H fics.
R/H fics I've read and highly recommend:
No Other by DeeDee
The Quill is Mightier also by DeeDee *good thoughts sent to her way and her family at Mississipi*
Comfort by Calliope
Getting it Right also by Calliope - and it's OMG! HOT!
The temptation of Ron Weasley by the amazing Angua
Enough by Ottercat
Smart Girls by emmilyne - this one is really, really, REALLY great!
Clearing the air by sunshyndaisies
So? Anyone? Any recs?
patigwblack you are excused of
pointing me towards any fics because you, well, have already done so,
and because you've put up with me all these days of reading fic -
though you've read some great fics because of that! The above fics, a
couple of Snape fics, and random Weasleys fics! XD
Which reminds me of two fics that are not exactly R/H (well, one isn't and the other mentions it) but are also great:
Red Alert by Megan
Snowballs, Gnomes and Gold Chains by PoppyP
Ah...vacation is SO great! Not only did I get to have some much deserved rest from working 60 hours per week, I was also able to read as many fics for as much time as I wished! And I haven't been able to read fics 24/7 for such a long time! Last week I read L/M and some H/G and this week it's been all about R/H...*sighs happily*
The bad AND the ugly:
I've been following the Katrina disaster more through my f-list than the news, because it seems more real to me that way, more personal, closer, than watching the tv or reading the news, because some of you were in the area, or know people who were, or are dealing with the consequences of the aftermath, like the survivors.
An article pointed out to me about Katrina made me think, and I thought some of you, if not all, should read it. It's interesting, enlightening, frightening, and makes me fell guilty for all my fic-reading levity. And makes me think WHAT can we make against it? I'm only one person, but I sure can make something, right? But how do we fight nature's wrath alone? I only know we can't just stand here doing nothing...
*sigh*
Ok, focusing on the now, I'm just glad to hear from who was on the area, like DeeDee, and that people are making what's possible to fix whatever they can, and to aid however they can. I hope all will be fixed. :)
