Rio Movie Festival, VM and Prison Break!
I almost forgot to leave reviews for the two movies I've already seen in the festival - it's not over yet, I still have about 5 more to watch - one of them tonight - but I want to review the ones I've already watched!
The Illusionist - I love Edward Norton, so, I HAD to watch it! It was very good, a love story with some magic thrown into it, some predictable things here and there, but a rather enjoyable movie! Edward Norton was, as usual, great! Paul Giammatti too! ;) I loved the transitions from scene to scene, and the somewhat older feel to the takes, sometimes with the outerline blurred.
Little Miss Sunshine - It quite surprised me! I was fully expecting a movie where I would cry my eyes out, but I actually laughed my @$$ off! Yes, it's a movie full of tragic situations, but the way it was handled...we can't help but laugh at the movie! It's a family going through some difficult time and situations, but always with each other there for one another, and with some sense of humour, even if sarcastic, helping them deal with it all. Especially loved Frank and Dwayne's characters and, well, conversations. :) Steve Carell was great as Frank, the more sarcastic character of the movie - obviously - and with some of the better lines. And he was kinda sexy with that beard! ;) *loves beards* Little Miss Sunshine was my favorite movie this weekend! I love movies with a SMART sense of humour, that don't treat the audience as dumb!
The Devil wears Prada - It was SO FUNNY! I really like Anne Hathaway - probably because my likeness for Julie Andrews rubbed off on her since the "Princess Diaries" movies, and I liked to see her as a grown up woman trying to make her living. Meryl Streep was AWESOME, as usual, and the movie was fun! That blond guy - forgot his name, was it Jonathan? - was sexy, too bad he wasn't as nice as I thought he was - at least in the movie!
VM - I couldn't resist the preview online! I liked it, very much! LoVe is in the air, I love Mac, and Wallace is back to his previous self - who I like! The new guy seemed nice - although that strange vibe he felt towards Veronica is worrying me...they will NOT ruin LoVe again, will they? I LOVE KEITH and I'm worried with him... Also, the plot is interesting and, unlike my flist...I wasn't that excited about the credits. *ducks*
Prison Break - Like I said before, I had watched episode 1 and enjoyed it, but due lack of time, Darth Real Life and a few other things, I was postponing watching it because I was afraid I would get addicted to it - I knew I would like it, but additiveness? So close to my new residence exams? Not good! XD
Anyway, the series are quite interesting, Michael is a GENIOUS, I like Lincoln - even if he is just the muscles, and I just loved Michael/Sara! DUH! I'm a sucker for romance/shippers/etc And I sort of like Abruzzi so far...but I definitely get irked by T-Bag, even if he has a nice voice when he sings and has some of the best jokes in the show.
The episodes always end in a way that make you want to watch the next, the plot is good, the characterization and dialogues are awesome! Too bad I will probably only finish watching Season 1 this weekend... :(
Now, gotta rush to another Rio Festival movie!!! :D

I wouldn't put it past RT, no.
the characterization and dialogues are awesome!
Okay, now... I love Prison Break. It's my little show that I watch and obsess over and try the hardest to not break down and read the spoilers I know are around. But seriously. The dialogue SUCKS. It really does. To the point where I sometimes have to rewind shit just because I was laughing so hard at the suckiness of the lines.
And, you know, that's fine with me, I don't watch PB for good dialogue. I can watch Whedon or Sorkin or the Palladinos for that. But when you say you thought the dialogue was awesome... don't make me lose my hope in converting you to the Church of Joss, Deb! :)

Insane, I know.
Though I *do* appreciate witty dialogue - like in GG, right?

And don't throw anything at me... but as much as I love Logan... would it be so bad?

And what was the point to get rid of Duncan to get her another love interest?

This week I am so overbooked with work that I won't even look at what I am missing. :(
Damn, I think I'll have to pass 'Driving Lessons'. I'll let you know. :(
I'll do my best to be free next week.
VM got me all in the mood again. The only thing that made me cringe was the way Veronica (or KB, dunno) was with Logan. I hope I am seeing what is not there. ;p
[hey, miss you... any plans for the weekend? Any movie to be seen? damn, I have my work nowadays...]

Or at least we could try and do something this weekend...like Firefly...or the BSG webisodes...or just the best BSG episodes to catch up for season 3!
I have plans for saturday afternoon, but not night or sunday - except that I have to go vote sometime and that I have a night ER shift at sunday...
